4TH WALLING: THIS ONE IS KIND OF WEIRD BUT IMPORTANT:

In the Guardians universe, a large part of their existence is based on belief IN them and a lot of them, like Pitch, have gone by many names and have been around for hundreds or thousands of years. So if your character has heard of stories of the Boogeyman or any cultural equivalent through stories or legend or hell, even a really bad B-movie slasher flick, that's all right to mention and he might even be pleased.

The only 4th-walling I want to AVOID is, "oh you're that character from kids books series / that 2012 movie that came out".

Threadjacking/threadhopping?: As long as it isn't a SRS BSNS thread, sure!
Backtagging: Hell yes. For weeks. Or months.
Fighting/maiming?: Pitch can definitely hold his own in combat (he walks tall and carries a big ass scythe) but I'm good with anything planned out in advance. He also doesn't injure like normal people since he's not 100% physical but as a related note, he's weak to sunlight or extremely bright artificial lights.
Death?: Plot first~
Kissing/hugging/badtouching/etc?: You might end up with Fearlings eating your entrails?
Relationships: M....aybe...?

SPOILER PERMISSIONS: If you haven't seen Rise of the Guardians OR read the Guardians of Childhood novels (re: mainly Pitch's backstory) and wish me to avoid MAJOR spoilers when threading with you, please note it on this post!

BUMP IN THE NIGHT:

Tweaking the basic canon premise of "believing = seeing" to suit RP: Pitch embodies fear, so if your character has ever believed in something lurking in the dark, that scary thing under the bed or in the closet, or the reason you didn't want to walk down that creepy alley in the dark... your character has a good chance of seeing/hearing/etc Pitch upon meeting him.
THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOUR CHARACTER IS A SCAREDY WOOBIE. <-- can't emphasize that enough. It just means that they know and accept that there really are things lurking out there that can't always be seen and that thrive on people's fear.
If your character refuses to accept things that can't be seen, are blissfully ignorant of supernatural things, or anything to that effect they may not be able to see/hear/interact with Pitch until that perception changes or evolves.

Alternatively, there may be a combination of perceptions -- a character could hear Pitch but not see him or not be able to touch him/be touched. And of course, this will change if/when/as characters either start believing in his identity ("so there really IS the Bogeyman!") or they experience denial ("dude if you want to be a super-villain at least pick a cooler codename") whether Pitch will start or stop being tangible to them.

Finally, this is only a guideline and can be adapted to each player's individual preference! I'm equally fine with either option, since both brings great variety to his CR.

• Does your character believe in things that go bump in the night?

RIDE OF THE FEARLINGS:

Pitch commands the Fearling armies since they're kind of inhabiting his soul, which means that inky creepy things are at his beck and call. One of their abilities is to possess people, especially younger people, and do all sorts of nasty numbers on their thoughts and emotions. While in game, Pitch won't be able to maintain that control indefinitely, so if you're interested in having your character temporarily be possessed (with lots of prior plotting OOCly for details/specifics!) please let me know.

• Permission to temporarily put creepy things in your brain?

NOT JUST A BAD DREAM:

As Pitch states, he knows everyone's greatest fears; it's simply inherent to what he is. He's also able to discern lesser fears, anxieties, and worries though again, I stress that it's not mind reading of any sort. He can also cause these things in a person, particularly if he focuses on them and especially if he has eye contact. If you're interested in having Pitch exploit these against your character (either subtle mentions or outright recreations) please outline them here! Links are also fine if they're in a character Wiki or something.

Secondly, Pitch is the giver of nightmares and is attracted to any kind of fear. Generally he'll be lurking under beds and corrupting people's otherwise pleasant dreams, but if you want him to have a hand in a specific nightmare for your character, I'm definitely up for that.
